Parent Guidelines

The following are some general guidelines and rules that are followed at our school

School Timings: The School starts at 8:00 A.M. and goes on till 2:45 P.M. The school runs from Monday to Friday, with every odd Saturday a working day as well. On these Saturdays the school timings are from 8:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M.

Food and Canteen: Simple, nutritious and vegetarian meals are provided for breakfast and lunch to all the students and mentors. We have embarked on a special project called “The Miracle Brain Project”, which aims to promote mental and physical health through the consumption of healthier food.

Medical conditions/ Allergies: Children with medical problems may obtain special permission to bring their own food. If your child is allergic to any particular food please inform the school in writing, along with providing medical records to explain the particulars of the allergy. A separate arrangement would be made for these children to have their food.

Uniforms: The school organises to provide the uniform to the children. The khaki uniform is worn every day of the week except on Wednesdays and Saturdays. On Wednesdays and Saturdays the Cubs wear GEAR T-shirts of respective House colours along with the school jeans.

Communication Card: Each child is provided with a communication card, which helps facilitate the communication process between parents and mentors. Parents are requested to check the communication card everyday, and can also use it to communicate short messages with the school.

Letters of Communication: If a message is beyond two sentences, please write it on an A5 pad supplied and send it across with your child. In any and all communications, please mention your child’s GEAR Cub number and Grade with the section.

Transport: All the school buses are GPS enabled and are fitted with CCTV cameras for the school to track and observe the buses. Children are only dropped off at their designated bus stop.

If your child needs to change their regular bus stop or bus route on a particular day, for example if they are to visit their grandparents, a letter would need to be provided by you. In the case of visiting a friends place, a letter from the child is required as well as a letter from the other child’s parents confirming the change in the bus stop.

Leave Letter: Whenever your child remains absent from school due to any unavoidable reason, parents are requested to communicate to the school in the form of a letter, stating this reason.

Parent-teacher Interactions: Regularly scheduled parent-teacher interactions are scheduled in the calendar. If you would need to arrange a meeting about your child that are not on these dates, you could send across a letter stating your reasons for such a meeting. The vice versa could happen as well, with a teacher requesting a meet with the parents. Please ensure you confirm the meeting set up.
